Leyla McCurdy, MPhil

Chair, Climate for Health Leadership Circle Executive Committee

Leyla McCurdy, MPhil, has over twenty years of experience in public health and the environment, including, climate change, environmental justice, and children’s environmental health. Currently, she is an environmental health consultant, chairs the Climate for Health Leadership Circle Executive Committee at ecoAmerica, and is a board member of Children’s Environmental Health Network. She has served on several expert committees, including the American Public Health Association’s Center for Climate, Health, and Equity Advisory Board and the National Environmental Health Partnership Council, and U.S. EPA’s Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee. She has given numerous presentations, organized conferences, conducted grand rounds and training sessions, led public education campaigns, developed a variety of environmental health publications, and published articles in peer-reviewed journals. She has been recognized for her contributions to the environmental public health field and recently received the Distinguished Service & Professional Achievement Award from the American Public Association’s Environment Section. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Chemistry from George Washington University. Her work experience includes the National Environmental Education Foundation, American Lung Association, and Johnson & Johnson.
