Jennifer Tabola, MEd

Jennifer Tabola is the Deputy Managing Director of The Nature Conservancy’s Global Lands program. She leads performance management, operations, and talent across a diverse portfolio of land-based conservation strategies spanning forestry, sustainable agriculture, indigenous people, lands and communities, integrated landscapes, energy and infrastructure, and a science team of experts on land, soil and carbon science. Jennifer also plays a leading role managing across communications, policy and land-based natural climate solutions to elevate nature-based climate solutions as a critical component for achieving international carbon mitigation commitments. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, Jennifer was Senior Director of ecoAmerica’s Climate for Health program, where she oversaw a strategic organizing initiative to engage the nation’s leading health organizations and executive influencers to position climate solutions as a health imperative. Previously, as Senior Director of Education at the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), Jennifer led national strategy and programming to integrate environmental and sustainability literacy into K-12 education. Jennifer was part of the start-up team to establish the federal Corporation for National and Community Service, serving as one of the inaugural AmeriCorps Program Officers and later as the Director of Training and Education for the National Civilian Conservation Corps. She has served under the California Governor’s Office as an Executive Fellow crafting welfare to work policy, and as an Education Policy Fellow advancing civic and service-learning with the Institute for Educational Leadership. Jennifer served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador where she helped design and manage the country’s first urban youth conservation corps. In addition to the Climate for Health Leadership Circle, Jennifer currently serves on the board of the Green Schools National Network, is a member of her local Environmental Services Council, and is a certified Master Naturalist.  A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, she holds a bachelors in Social Ecology and completed the Humanities Honors Program, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, at the University of California, Irvine, and earned a Master’s in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University.
