Jeff Carter, JD

Jeff Carter became the executive director of Physicians for Social Responsibility on January 2, 2017. Jeff is an attorney and nonprofit executive with more than 16 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, including eight years of executive/CEO experience, primarily with membership organizations and associations. He is also a well-known national leader on adult education policy. Social change is the core value driving his nonprofit career. In addition to advocating on behalf of adult education with federal policymakers, he has worked to bring together other education organizations and associations to fight for critical federal investments in education for poor and vulnerable people. PSR’s mission resonates for him because it uses education as an instrument of change. He looks forward to helping individuals and communities better understand how climate change, toxics, and nuclear weapons threaten their health and how people can work together to reduce them.
